Stand Up To Cancer Day (September 9th, 2016)

Cancer is one of the many things that should not exist.I have had family and friends who unfortunately had to go through cancer, are going trough cancer,or sadly passed away from cancer. My cousin (by marriage) was diagnosed with cancer after she had her second child but the last I knew she was in remission, and my mom's cousin had breast cancer a few years and she's in remission as well. I hope their cancer doesn't come back. My aunt the last time I knew, she as in remission I think but had to go back every month or so to check if the cancer spread anymore.  A really good friend of mine mom's has cancer and I think the last I heard about her was that she had to go in the hospital to have some tests done so I've been thinking of her. A family friend that I have known all of my life sadly passed away a few years ago of cancer.

What is really sad is that  In 2016, an estimated 1,685,210 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United States and 595,690 people will die from the disease (Cancer Statistics, 2016). That number is a really high number that should be at 0. Nobody should be diagnosed with cancer or see their family member or friend sick.

15 Years ago of September 11th

Fifteen years ago, I was in the 5th grade and being a little kid I didn't think anything like what happened that day would happen. We were just coming back into the classroom after we had our morning recess. As we were going back inside the classroom, we were told to be quiet as our teacher had the T.V. on watching the terrible news. We later found out that her brother lived close by the Twin Towers and she had to make sure he was alive and not injured, which I'm happy to say he wasn't. We, as 4th and 5th graders, we weren't comprehending what was happening as we were just little kids,

I remember coming home and having my parents have the TV on and all the news about the tragic event that happened earlier that day. My two older brothers understood what happened. I remember my parents talking to us about what happened. Sadly a lot of innocent lives were taken too soon. I know that I'm only one person but I just want to say thank you to all of the soldiers and veterans who risked their own lives that day and those who are currently fighting for our country and all of the veterans. Thank you for keeping our country safe.

Why I have been MIA

Hey guys,

I am sooo sorry that I have been MIA .A lot of things have been going on that I had to take care of, had to get ready to go back to college and I also moved recently so I've been getting used to my new surroundings. This upcoming college term, I will be taking Curriculum Development and Critical Thinking. I have also sent in my resume to a place here I think would be a great place for me to work at,so wish me luck please! I'm planning on posting multiple blogs in the next few days to kind of get myself caught up with the blogs that I wanted to post before I start my new college term.
